IPL Treatment

In spring 2016, we introduced our brand new, state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser – the Icon Aesthetic System by Cynosure Palomar. With this new machine, we can provide the most popular non-surgical treatments, including:

Photorejuvenation for the repair of age and sun-related damage to the skin, especially on the face, neck, chest and hands. This includes age and sun spots, broken capillaries (spider veins,) redness or flushing (rosacea,) increased pore size and uneven skin texture. Photorejuvenation can restore a youthful and healthy appearance to the skin.
Permanent hair reduction can also be accomplished with IPL treatments. Often, any hair that does remain is finer and lighter in color than the original hair. Unfortunately, blonde or white hair cannot be reliably removed.

IPL treatment is similar to cosmetic laser treatments, except that IPL uses multiple wavelengths (colors) of light instead of a single wavelength. This allows larger areas of skin to be treated, and reduces some of the hazards associated with true lasers.

IPL is not the newest form of cosmetic light treatment, but since it was developed over 26 years ago, it has become one of the most popular treatments because of its safety, success rate, reliability and lack of recovery time. The system we use is the Palomar Icon, which has established a particularly strong reputation for excellent results.
